What Web Browsers are Supported?
The Webinar Portal is best viewed using a current modern desktop browser. Supported examples include Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Opera. Internet Explorer is not supported. Mobile access may work for some webinars, but a desktop or laptop computer is recommended for the most reliable experience.
You can test browser compatibility using HTML5 Test and CSS3 Test. If information does not carry from one form to the next, make sure cookies are allowed for the portal website.
View full browser requirements & cookie settings in the Technical Support Guide here.
Are continuing education credits offered and how do I earn them?
Many webinars offer CE credits (such as SAF, CCA, ISA, and others) if they are less than one year old. Credit availability and the number of credits awarded are listed on each webinar’s description page.
To receive CE credits, you must complete all of the following steps:
- Register individually using your full name and accurate information
- Complete any required pre-survey.
- Join the host platform using a full name and email if prompted.
- Attend the live webinar or view the on-demand webinar in its entirety
- Complete any required post-survey and quiz, and pass the quiz if one is required. Retakes are allowed when stated.
- Submit the Continuing Education (CE) Form with your license or identification number and certify full participation.
⚠ Group viewing is not eligible for CE credit. Each participant must register and complete all required steps individually.
Certificates will be emailed after successful completion of all requirements.

What software do I need, and how do I set up my device to participate in a webinar?
Before joining a live or on-demand webinar, check the webinar detail page to see which platform it uses. To find out what hosting software a webinar uses, refer to the webinar details section for that specific webinar (on the right side of the page, listed after “Format:”). The Portal may use Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Connect, WebEx, GoTo Webinar, YouTube, and other formats.
Some webinars open in your browser, while others require an app or media player. YouTube webinars usually do not need special software.
Use the accompanying Technical Support Guide for platform-specific setup instructions and guidance.
How do I join or view a webinar?
- Find your webinar under Live Webinars or On-Demand Webinars.
- Select the webinar title to open its page.
- Click Join for a live webinar or View for an on-demand webinar.
- Completely fill out the registration form and click “submit”.
- If you are presented with a survey, complete it.
- After completing the survey (if applicable), you will be redirected to the hosting platform where you will be able to join the webinar session.
See the accompanying Technical Support Guide for detailed joining and platform instructions.
Can I add, host, or share a webinar through the portal?
Yes, contact comments@sref.info if you would like to add a webinar, propose a series, ask about hosting, or see whether the Portal is a good fit for you.
These webinars are designed to be educational in nature and are not designed to be commercial in nature. This site is actually offered to the forestry, conservation and natural resources communities as a portal. We provide an opportunity to assist other organizations with the marketing of their webinars as well as an opportunity to develop webinars produced from Southern Regional Extension Forestry participating institutions. Webinars developed and/or promoted by this website are designed to be educational in nature and do not promote any specific company or product.
How do I suggest a webinar?
For future webinar suggestions, contact Leslie Boby at LBoby@sref.info.
What do I do if the 'NEXT' button does not show after completing the satisfaction survey in STEP-2 of the webinar workflow?
Issue: Upon completing the satisfaction survey you receive the Thank You page instructing you to click the 'Next' button to continue but there is no 'Next' button at the bottom of the page. This is a browser incompatibility issue that is related to the browser your are using and it's settings.
Solution: Depending on the web browser you are using, you'll need to click the appropriate access keys on your keyboard to continue past the satisfaction survey.
Internet Explorer, Chrome or Safari web browser on a Windows PC: click the <Alt> + <n> keys
Firefox web browser on a Windows PC: click the <Alt><Shift> + <n> keys
Firefox, Chrome or Safari web browser on a Mac: click the <Control><Alt> + <n> keys
I got disconnected, from a live webinar or video recording. What should I do?
If you get disconnected from the live webinar you are participating in or get disconnected while viewing an on-demand training video/resource, you can pickup where you left off in one of two ways:
1. You can try rejoining from the original webinar page if that browser window is still open.
2. You can use the functionality in your Dashboard to rejoin the webinar or video replay. You can access your Dashboard from the home page. Just click the 'My Dashboard' link in the upper left corner of the home page. Then, click the 'Live Webinar I Started, NOT Completed Yet' link on the left side menu of the Dashboard or click the 'On-Demand Webinar I Started, NOT Completed Yet' link. These will list any outstanding live or on-demand webinars / videos you started and have not completed yet. They will also give you the link to rejoin your webinar or video replay.
NOTE: Incomplete webinars can generally only be resumed up to 2 hours after the scheduled end time. After that, the webinar may still appear in dashboard history as attempted or abandoned, but it is no longer resumable.
I'm unable to view or download a PDF file. What should I do?
If you click to a PDF file and it does not download or you get a message similar to:
Please wait...
If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document.
--or--
The document you are trying to load requires Adobe Reader 8 or higher. You may not have the Adobe Reader installed or your viewing environment may not be properly configured to use Adobe Reader.
For information on how to install Adobe Reader and configure your viewing environment please see http://www.adobe.com/go/pdf_forms_configure.
These type messages indicates that your browser is unable to display / render the selected PDF file within the browser. Your browser is configured to open PDF files within the browser and it is unable to display / render the selected PDF file. In general, browser PDF viewing engines are not full functional and more than likely, the PDF file you are trying to view is a non-standard PDF document (such as a fillable PDF form or a PDF document with digital signatures).
To fix this, you have two options:
1. Download the PDF and open it in Adobe Reader or another desktop PDF application. Do not reopen it in your browser.
2. Change your browser settings so PDFs download automatically instead of opening in the browser.
If needed, install Adobe Reader here or another desktop PDF viewer. Firefox may also handle some PDFs better than other browsers.
View browser-specific PDF troubleshooting steps in the Technical Support Guide here.
What is the Participant Dashboard and how do I access it?
Use the My Dashboard link or the red My Dashboard button in the upper-left area of the portal homepage. Dashboard access appears when you have registered for a webinar in your current browser recently, generally within about the last month.
Your Dashboard lets you:
- Resume webinars you started but did not complete, within the resume window.
- View webinars you completed.
- Review webinars you attempted but abandoned.
- Manage portal subscription preferences.
