A collaboration between the Climate Learning Network and the Climate Science Initiative, this webinar draws on results from two studies (conducted with researchers Kaila Thorn, Allison Chatrchyan, Daniel Tobin, and Rama Radhakrishna) of natural resource professionals working in extension, government agencies, and NGOs. The webinar will focus on which outreach methods were perceived as most useful in reaching natural resource audiences in climate outreach for increasing understanding of climate change and ultimately the adoption of adaptation and mitigation practices.

Natural resource professionals, ranging from forest managers to extension educators, are responding to climate change through programming intended to encourage adaptation and address mitigation in natural resources management and agricultural production. However, effectively engaging target audiences requires identifying appropriate delivery methods. In this webinar, Dr. Shorna B. Allred of Cornell University and Kaila Thorn at Penn State draw on results from two studies (conducted with researchers Kaila Thorn, Allison Chatrchyan, Daniel Tobin, and Rama Radhakrishna) of natural resource professionals working in extension, government agencies, and NGOs.  The webinar will focus on which outreach methods were perceived as most useful in reaching natural resource audiences in climate outreach for increasing understanding of climate change and ultimately the adoption of adaptation and mitigation practices.
