Webinar participants will learn how shallow groundwater from glacial till aquifers can provide a high quality water supply for agricultural and domestic use. A brief history of the use of water wells will be discussed.
Well construction: Installing the casing.
The Presenter will explain historical issues with shallow dug wells and newer drilled wells along with the changes in water chemistry that accompanied the change. A new well design will be presented that can provide water without the historical shallow well issues and without the newer drilled well issues. This shallow well design is an innovative technique for adapting to drought conditions which are becoming more frequent with the changing climate in glacial till areas that are hydrologically favorable for shallow well development.
