The US Forest Service in partnership with the US Biochar Initiative and the Southern Regional Extension Forestry presented its latest Biochar Webinar titled: "Assessing Challenges and Opportunities for Biochar Adoption in New Mexico" on Sept. 12, 2024. This is the on-demand replay of that webinar.

This month's speakers are Dr. Tomasz Falkowski and Dr. Ram Adhikari

Dr. Tomasz Falkowski holds a PhD in Environmental and Forest Biology from State University of New York College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry, a MS in Environmental Resources Engineering from State University of New York College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry, and a BS in Bioengineering. He currently is an assistant professor in the University New Mexico Honors College. Dr. Falkowski’s research has focused on traditional Maya agroforestry systems Mesoamerica and post-fire restoration in New Mexico, with a particular emphasis on traditional ecological knowledge and socioecological systems.

Dr. Ram Adhikari holds a PhD on Forest Economics from Mississippi State University a MS from Technische Universität München on Natural Resources and Conservation, and bachelor’s degree in forestry from the Institute of Forestry, TU, in Nepal. Dr. Adhikari is Assistant Professor at Mississippi State University, and he has published more than 20 articles about ecosystem services and economic assessments

Dr. Ram Adhikari holds a PhD on Forest Economics from Mississippi State University a MS from Technische Universität München on Natural Resources and Conservation, and bachelor’s degree in forestry from the Institute of Forestry, TU, in Nepal. Dr. Adhikari is Assistant Professor at Mississippi State University, and he has published more than 20 articles about ecosystem services and economic assessments.
