The US Forest Service in partnership with the US Biochar Initiative and the Southern Regional Extension Forestry will be presenting its next monthly Biochar Webinar titled: "Biochar considerations of feed for cattle, and potential use in the USA" on July 21, 2022 from 11am to 12pm Eastern time.

This month's speaker is Dr. Andrea Watson. Darren holds a Master of Science and PhD degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in animal science, ruminant nutrition.

Dr. Watson is a Research Associate Professor at University of Nebraska since 2014 working on protein utilization by beef cattle and nutrient cycling through agricultural systems in Nebraska, focused primarily on carbon and nitrogen.  She coordinates an online program for Master of Applied Science Students interested in beef production and teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Dr. Watson has published extensively in her field with 41 published Refereed Journal Articles in addition to 74 research reports and 87 professional meeting abstracts. The American Society of Animal Science Midwestern Section recognized her with the Young Scholar award in 2015, and she got the 2nd place Midwest Section ASAS, poster presentation PhD division in 2014.
