Working with local television media to share educational content and promote programs can be a strong tool in your outreach toolbox, but it can be challenging to work with reporters. In this talk I'll share some tips that will help you build positive relationships with local media outlets. This is the fifth webinar in the nine-part "Reaching Your Target Audience & Providing Innovative Programs Webinar Series."

Julie has been a Horticulture Agent with UF/IFAS Extension since 2012 and was promoted to Regional Specialized Agent in 2023. She has a bachelor's degree in horticulture from Auburn University and a master’s degree in entomology from the University of Florida. In addition to horticulture and entomology topics, she also teaches colleagues about marketing Extension, educational technologies, and media relations. Prior to her career in Extension, Julie worked in ornamental nursery sales, Public Safety Communications, and served in the U.S. Army Reserves.
