The assessment of seed quality, the process of seed certification, and how seeding rates are developed are presented as tools for purchasing the seed to get the job done.
The success of any vegetation project depends upon the seed. The use of poor quality seed always reduces the quality of the planting. When we buy seed do we do all we can to make sure we get what we need? We will discusses the physical, physiological, health, and genetic qualities that determine seed quality. In addition, we will explore what it means to purchase certified seed and how it ensures seed quality. We will also look at various ways to calculate seeding rates.
