Minnesota Extension's Online Climate Adaptation Training Program for Resource Professionals and the Forestry Deep-dive
In this webinar, Nathan Meyer and Eli Sagor discuss a University of Minnesota Extension collaboration with MN Sea Grant and a national group of Extension professionals to develop a 40-hour online course on climate adaptation planning, and resources created for this course that will be available for other Extension programs. Funded by the Renewable Resources Extension Act, the national cases and expert videos will be freely available for other Extension programs to utilize.
In the second part of the webinar, Sagor and Matt Russell discuss the forestry module within an online climate change adaptation course. Learning outcomes include an understanding of the resistance-resilience-transition framework, learning from silvicultural case studies, and building customized adaptation plans in forest management.
