Consumers’ views on forest care, sustainability and recycling are top of mind and the cornerstone of a national marketing campaign funded by the paper and paper packaging industry to educate consumers on the sustainable nature of its products. Learn more about the campaign managed by the Paper and Packaging Board including creative advertising, social media and more. Be prepared to walk away with valuable consumer insights on sustainably managed forests and the paper products they produce.

Ask for Wood, Ask for Paper is a new project sponsored by Keeping Forests. This webinar is the second in a series that aims to arm the broader forestry community, including landowners, with information on the benefits of wood construction and the use of paper and packaging in all projects, which they can then use to advocate with local community leaders and decision makers.

Presenter: Mary Anne Hansan, President of the Paper and Packaging Board

As President of the Paper and Packaging Board (P+PB) since its formation eight years ago, Mary Anne Hansan leads P+PB’s How Life Unfolds® national consumer and B2B marketing campaign, reaching millions of consumers each year. Mary Anne oversees all aspects of the campaign including research, strategy, messaging and campaign metrics. The campaign, collectively funded by 47 manufacturers and importers, promotes the use of paper products and paper-based packaging by highlighting how their sustainable nature, the industry’s practices and recycling help contribute to a healthier planet. P+PB’s program is structured similarly to agricultural promotion efforts like the campaigns for beef, eggs and cotton that are familiar to many Americans.

Prior to joining P+PB, Mary Anne worked in a wide range of industries promoting plastics, seafood and flowers, and for both advertising and public relations firms throughout her career.

She is married, has two grown children and a pampered dog. She is a paper and packaging enthusiast who loves to read magazines and newspapers, and gets excited not only about what’s inside the shipping box, but the box itself, and of course, recycling all of the above when she’s done.
