This webinar discusses the Shortleaf Pine Restoration Plan.

Mike Black, Director of the Shortleaf Pine Initiative, discusses the Shortleaf Pine Restoration Plan. As the first comprehensive strategy to improve the shortleaf pine ecosystem across its entire range, this plan aims to stem the rapid decline of shortleaf pine-dominant forests over the next five years. Topics covered include  the history, necessity, and development of the plan, the individual components of the plan, and steps to implement the plan.

Dr. Mark McConnell of UGA Extension follows up Mike's talk with a lecture on the wildlife component of shortleaf pine restoration. Species discussed include wild turkey, the red-cockaded woodpecker, and bobwhite quail.
