Participants will understand the factors and data that a livestock producer should consider in deciding if shade is necessary for their pastured livestock operation.
Participants will see the data from limited scientific research on considering shade in the eastern U.S. This will be discussed by livestock species and type. Experienced animal scientists will discuss their observations of the use of shade or no shade on pastured livestock operations in the eastern U.S.
