Minnesota Extension’s Approach to Watershed Education
John Bilotta begins the discussion by introducing us to the land of 10,000 lakes or Minnesota. He explains the state’s topography and some of the interesting facts about Minnesota. Karen Terry then describes the University of Minnesota’s Water Resources Team efforts in watershed education. She explains watershed issues in Minnesota and what her extension team has done to address those issues. Finally, John Bilotta explains how the extension water resources team has used NEMO or the Nonpoint Education for Municipal Officials program to assist in watershed education. He explains the success they have had with the watershed education game and extension programs done on the water. An interesting approach of using video interviews to evaluate extension programs is showcased.
