This webinar will provide an understanding and appreciation for the importance of conservation practice standards as a tool to define and deliver conservation technology to NRCS employees and partners.
Conservation practice standards describe a discrete piece of technology, and they establish the criteria for the application of that technology to ensure it accomplishes its conservation purpose. Conservation practices don’t exist in a vacuum, however. They are part of a suite of supporting documents that are necessary to ensure that the practice is properly planned, designed and applied. This presentation will cover how to write a standard and how to determine what kinds of supporting documents are necessary for implementing the technology in the standard. This will be done in the context of addressing fish-wildlife resource concerns.
This webinar is sponsored by the USDA NRCS National Wildlife Team located at the Central National Technology Support Center.
