The US Forest Service in partnership with the US Biochar Initiative and the Southern Regional Extension Forestry will be presenting its latest Biochar Webinar titled: "Updates on Virginia's biochar activities, market updates, demonstration projects, and future plans". This live webinar will be held May 30, 2023 from 11 to 12 pm Eastern time.

This month's speaker is M.Sc. Sabina Dhungana . Sabina is currently serving as the Utilization and Marketing Program Manager at the Virginia Department of Forestry. She has a wealth of experience and demonstrated success within the forest products industry and state government. Sabina's professional interests have focused on innovative wood products, wood energy, mass timber, biochar and carbon. A native of Nepal, Sabina has spent her last 15 years in developing successful programs to enhance and improve forest utilization through creative approaches all over the United States. Having held similar positions with Winrock International in California, the Kansas Forest Service and before coming to Virginia with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry.  Sabina has a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Tribhuvan University in Nepal and a master’s degree in Forest Science with specialization in wood products utilization from West Virginia University in the US.
