The presentation provides an overview of why to use of wood energy, key components of wood energy systems, important steps in the design of wood energy systems, support available from the Forest Service Wood Energy Technical Assistance Team, some new wood energy technologies, and several project examples.
The USDA Forest Service Wood Education and Resource Center
As Regional Woody Biomass Coordinator, Mr. McCreery oversees efforts to increase the use of woody biomass for energy and value-added products across the 20-state region. Mr. McCreery is also the leader of the WERC Wood Energy Technical Assistance Team that provides hands-on assistance to building owners interested in using wood energy in their facility. The Team focus is on implementing high efficiency projects that meet the owners needs while minimizing project costs.
Mr. McCreery has been involved in the use of wood energy since 1985.
