The US Forest Service in partnership with the US Biochar Initiative and the Southern Regional Extension Forestry will be presenting its latest Biochar Webinar titled: "The importance of woody biochar for continued ecosystems services". This webinar was recorded on August 25, 2022 and is now available for on-demand viewing.

This month's speaker is Carlos Rodriguez Franco, PhD. Carlos holds a Doctorate in Forest Sciences from Yale University, Master of Science degree from Colegio de Postgraduados and Bachelor in Agronomy with major in Forest Sciences from Chapingo Autonomous University. In Mexico Carlos worked for the National Institute of Forestry, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Research (INIFAP) for 25 years.

Carlos was the former Forestry Research General Director at INIFAP from 1996 to 2000 and currently works with the US Forest Service, where he is a Senior Forester. He is the former Deputy Chief for Research and Development (2016 – 2018). He has written more than 90 scientific articles published in Mexico, USA, and the UK.
