This webinar will give participants an overview of determining hydrology management objectives, using active and passive water management techniques, and methods to deter nuisance wetland mammal damage on WRP lands.

Note: This webinar makes reference to outdated statute / policy concerning WRP rather than WRE. However, the technical aspects of this webinar remain relevant.

Webinar attendees will learn how and why to determine hydrology management objectives on Wetland Reserve Program (WRP) lands. Passive hydrology management and resulting wetland types will be discussed. Specific active management activities such as disturbance techniques, water management timing and duration, resulting habitat evaluation, and vegetation management will be covered. WRP hydrology restoration design to deter nuisance wetland mammal damage will also be a topic. Discussion will include possible identification of when and where damage may occur and techniques for prevention.

This webinar is sponsored by the USDA NRCS East National Technology Support Center.
