2022 Wood Products Infrastructure Assistance (WPIA)
This webinar is NOT the 2023 Wood Innovations Program Funding Opportunities Pre-Application Webcast, as 2023 Wood Innovations Grants have not been approved yet.
Processing small diameter ponderosa pine logs from an ecosystem restoration project on federal lands in northern Arizona.
A webinar on the new financial assistance program from the USDA Forest Service to support facilities that purchase and process byproducts of ecosystem restoration projects on federal and Indian lands.
Project funding may be used to establish, reopen, retrofit, expand, or improve a sawmill or other wood-processing facility in close proximity to federal or Indian lands that need ecosystem restoration and will generate byproduct. The emphasis is on areas of unnaturally severe high fire or insect or disease infestation with high or very high priority for ecological restoration.
This program is funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Deadline to apply for financial assistance is 5:00 pm local time on December 20, 2022.
