Join us for this engaging session in the NRCS Conservation Outcomes Webinar Series, as we highlight how targeted conservation efforts are supporting native pollinator populations—specifically bees—in working agricultural landscapes across the Southeast
This webinar presents findings from a recent Conservation Effects Assessment Project (CEAP) study led by the Auburn University Bee Lab, which assessed how pollinator plantings in Alabama are impacting native bee communities. With pollinators playing a vital role in the production of over 35% of the world’s food crops, understanding how conservation practices influence their populations is essential for agricultural productivity, biodiversity, and ecosystem health. Moderated by Charlie Rewa, CEAP Wildlife Component Leader, the session will feature insights from Kelly Gill of the Xerces Society, Jeff Thurman, NRCS Alabama State Biologist, and Dr. Anthony Abbate, Assistant Professor at Auburn University. Together, the presenters will share scientific findings, practical applications, and strategies for enhancing pollinator habitat using Farm Bill-funded conservation practices.
