Kelly Oten is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist of Forest Health at N.C. State University. Although her first love is insects, she also works on diseases and invasive plants that can impact tree and forest health. She has a B.S. in entomology from Texas A&M, an M.S. in entomology from the University of Tennessee, and a Ph.D. in entomology and forestry from N.C. State University. Prior to her role with N.C. State University, she spent 8 years with the N.C. Forest Service - Forest Health Branch.
