36th SFTIC competition for research support funding
The Schatz Colloquium for Tree Genetics Fund is providing special funding for a competition that will provide 5 grants of $2000 each for graduate students, postdocs and junior faculty/early career government researcher (i.e. Assistant Professor, Assistant Research Scientist, or equivalent in government research) to continue or enhance research projects on which they make presentations at the 36th SFTIC. These grants are separate from the usual SFTIC awards for best oral presentation or best poster. Those receiving these grants will be expected to make a presentation at the next SFTIC in 2023 on their new research results, including those supported by the Schatz Colloquium funds.
To be considered for one of these grants, please add a brief paragraph (150 words or less) to your abstract indicating that you wish to be entered in the competition with a statement of what purpose(s) the funds will be used for if awarded. If you have already submitted an abstract, email Scott Merkle (smerkle@uga.edu) directly with this information.
